How to Do Mold Inspection?

A common problem of mold spreading is a little difficult to deal with. You can find mold spread in every damp corner of the house. Sometimes we remove them with home remedies, but sometimes we need a mold inspector in Los Angeles.

The common trick is to spot their presence. They are usually found in areas with moisture. it is like basically everywhere where it can grow, and their sports float all over the air. The compatible temperature is 40 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Distinguish between mold and dirt

If you look closely, then mold appears like dirt. Many people neglect these fine particles as dirt. The most visible type of mold is mildew which is tiny and has black spots when they grow up. If you spot any black line like a colony in your shower line, damp wall, or other damp areas of the house, it can be mildew. It is physically difficult to distinguish between dirt and mildew. You can do a simple test by dabbing a few drops of bleach on that black area. If it turns lighter in one or two minutes, it is mildew. If it remains the same, it is dirt. You can also get help from a mold test kit.

Mold in the structural component

Sometimes mold is not visible to us. Mildew is a surface mold, but some other types of molds can enter the structure of the house, where they can cause damage to the components. Sometimes it looks like just a damp wall, but if you look properly, it is peeling off paint. You can use a screwdriver or other tool to test the suspected area. If the wood or wall softens and crumbles, it is a sign that mold has a hold on it.

Plumbing leaks check

The most common problem is plumbing leaks which damage house structures. It provides a proper moisture-filled plate for microbes. You can check joints down and sideways to spot any mold aggregation. Use some tools to check hard access areas.

Check wall exterior

Apart from inside leaks, it is necessary to check outside or exterior leaks for spotting any mold aggregation. The outside moisture can cause aggregation in the wall. You can inspect the door to spot any changes on the other side of the wall. Check any damp area near the house which can make the house damp to grow mold.

Ductwork check

Sometimes the ceiling near ducts shows no signs of leakage. Warm and moisturized air finds its way to the wall through the duct. They can travel around the attic. It is important to check for any mold spores in duct space.

Conclusion

Molds are microorganisms that have the job of digesting every organic thing. The required moisture to activate their digestive juices. If we have spores but no damp space, it is impossible for them to grow. You cannot have a fully dry place at home, but regular cleaning and inspection can keep it in control.
